Carol Fish

Carol Darden Fish, 69, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2017, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Carol was born November 13, 1947, in Brownsville, Texas, to Zella Lois (Pagel) and Jack Marshall Darden. Growing up in a military family, she lived in various locations around the world, but in the end, she made her way back to Texas after graduating high school in 1965 from Hammond High School in Alexandria, VA. She earned her BS in Elementary Education from Texas A & I University in Kingsville.

Carol resided in Beeville, Texas for many years where she raised her two sons. In 1989, she went back to teaching English at Thomas Jefferson Junior High until she retired in 1999.

Carol will be remembered for being a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; and her granddaughter, Laura Caroline Fish.

Leaving behind to cherish many wonderful memories are her sons, Brent Fish and wife, Amber of Corpus Christi and Jeffrey Fish and wife, Heather of Fort Worth, Texas; her five grandsons, Zachary and Cormac Fish (Brent) and Preston, Philip and Marshall Fish (Jeffrey). She also leaves behind two brothers, Marshall Darden and wife, Charlotte, Jim Darden and wife, Mindy; and a sister, Eleanor Fitte and husband, Dave.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the caregivers and staff of the Mirador Retirement Community for their excellent care over the last five years and especially in her last days.

A service of remembrance will be held at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Corpus Christi on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. A reception with the family will follow the service in the church parlor.
