Barbara Jean Hamrick

Barbara Jean Hamrick, age 72, of Swinney Switch, Texas, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on October 30, 2026. She was born on August 2, 1954.

Barbara embraced country living with a rustic style and a vibrant spirit. She found joy in the simple and lively things in life—whether she was relaxing at the beach, out fishing, listening to country music, dancing, or enjoying a good day of shopping. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She and her beloved husband, John Hamrick, shared 53 wonderful years of marriage together.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Hamrick; her son, Charles Hamrick; her daughter, Jennifer Hamrick; her cherished grandchildren, Audrey Hamrick, Charlie Hamrick, and Jacob Hamrick; her brother, Robert Lynch; her sister, Patricia Meeler; her uncle, Bud Rankin; and generations of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 5, at St. George Catholic Church with a Rosary to be recited at 10 o’ clock. The funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Romeo Salinas officiating. 

Burial will take place at Gussettville Cemetery in George West, Texas.
