Audrey Herod

Audrey Faye (Jameson) Herod, 97, of Rockport, Texas, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, in Rockport, Texas.
Mrs. Herod was born Jan. 27, 1921 in Little, Oklahoma, to Harley and Lovey (Yeats) Jameson. She married Ellis Belton Herod in Beeville on June 8, 1940. She was a member of Coastal Oak Church in Rockport and for more than 40 years a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Kingsville, Beeville and Mathis. She enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles and boating.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Lovey Jameson; her husband, Ellis Herod; a sister, Mabel Sklar; two brothers and their spouses, Jack Jameson and Stewart "Tom" Dean Jameson; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Hill.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Jay of Rockport; one son, James (Georgia) Herod of Liberty, Missouri; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in Beeville.
The funeral service will be conducted there that afternoon at 3 o'clock with Rev. Clif Abshier and Rev. James Herod officiating. Special selections will include "Amazing Grace" and "One Day at a Time, Sweet Jesus."
Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville.
Pallbearers will be John Wm. Jameson, Michael Hill, Christopher Bowen, Josh Herod, Billy Ford and Lloyd James.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Sklar and Jack Sklar.
