Audelia Cervantes

Audelia “Delia” (Zuniga) Cervantes, 76, of George West, Texas, passed away peacefully into the arms of her beloved Lord on Sept. 29, 2021.

Delia was born April 13, 1945 in Mathis to Eugenio Zuniga and Ester (Munoz) Zuniga. She was well known around the community serving as a waitress in the restaurant business.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugenio Zuniga, Ester Zuniga and Guadalupe Zuniga; and husband, Adan Cervantes.

Survivors include eight daughters, Diana (Raymundo) Avila, Carolyn Rodriguez (Basilio Gutierrez) and Melinda (Mauricio) Rodriguez, all of Austin, Becky (George) Lopez of Three Rivers, Lori Cantu of Dallas, Brenda Rodriguez of San Antonio and Christina Cervantes and Jolene Cervantes, both of Austin; eight sons, Blas (Alicia) Cantu and Daniel Cantu, both of Seagraves, Michael Cantu of Austin, Freddy Diaz of Three Rivers, Benny (Erica) Cantu of George West and Adam Cervantes, Sabino Cervantes and Albert Cervantes, all of Austin; daughter-in-law, Grace Cantu of George West; two sisters, Sylvia Garcia and Linda (Porfido) Sanchez; five brothers, Joe Zuniga, Raymond Zuniga, Martin Zuniga, Guillermo “William” Zuniga and Eugene Zuniga; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West followed by the funeral service at 2 o’clock with Father Romeo Salinas officiating. Burial will follow in the George West Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Freddy Cantu, Lucas Cantu, Albert Cervantes, Sabino Cervantes, Delena Villarreal and Eric Govea.
