Anita Archer, 73, of Cibolo, Texas, passed away on August 24, 2026. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, and her memory will be cherished forever.
She was born on November 7, 1952, in Denver, Colorado, to Richard L and Marilyn E Harty. She was the oldest of three children, with a sister, Christine and a younger brother, David. She grew up on Denver's southeast side and graduated from South High.
She worked as a hostess at the Denver USO where she met both her future brother-in-law and her husband. Following in her mother's footsteps, she joined the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority where she became a life member. When her husband returned to active duty, she embraced the military life. During that time, she traveled first to Texas where her daughter was born, and then to Germany where her son was born. After retiring from the military, the family settled in San Antonio, Texas. She worked and volunteered in the Randolph AFB Thrift Shop as part of her larger active membership in the Officers' Spouses' Club.
She leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Fred; daughter Victoria (Jason) and son Jefferson; brother David and brother-in-law Charles. She is preceded in death by both parents, her sister Christine, and sister-in-law SuAnn.
A celebration of life service will be held on October 11, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Crestholme Presbyterian Church, 1602 Goliad Rd, San Antonio, TX 78223. Inurnment will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Mineral Cemetery in Mineral, Tx.
For those who are so moved, the family requests any donations be made in her honor to whatever charity resonates with the giver. Anita was a firm believer in charitable works and donations and gave often to a variety of causes. As has often been misquoted, she believed that "service is the rent we pay for living."
