Ramon C. Casas, 86, of George West, Texas, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019.

Mr. Casas was born December 4, 1932, in George West to Andres and Juanita (Cuevas) Casas. He married Petra Lopez in George West on March 8, 1954. He was a Catholic and was employed with the City of George West in the maintenance department. He enjoyed small mechanical work and Spanish gospel music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Juanita Casas; three brothers, Juan Casas, Adan Casas and Margarito Casas; a son-in-law, Jose Manuel Torres; and a brother-in-law, Eugenio Zuniga.

Survivors include his wife, Petra Casas of George West; a daughter, Juanita Torres of George West; two granddaughters, Anna Marie Miller and Delia Reyna Torres; a grandson, Robert Joe Torres; six sisters, Eladia (Alex) Lopez, Guadalupe Zuniga and Adelina (Daniel) Gutierrez, all of George West, Eva (Dean) Davidson and Victoria (Antonio) Moreno, both of Victoria, and Andrea (Simon) Guerrero of Three Rivers; one brother, Joe (Greta) Casas of George West; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o’clock with Deacon Shayne Katzfey officiating.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at St. George Catholic Church with Father Ryszard Zielinski officiating. Burial will follow in the George West Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joe Casas, Raymond Zuniga, Rene Valdez, Jose Luis Zuniga, Joe Adam Garza and Robert Joe Torres.
