Louise Elaine (Somerton) Tindol passed into the arms of her loving Savior on Saturday, March 16, 2019. She was 94 years old.

Louise was born April 4, 1924 in Roseville, California, to Fanny (Adams) and Thomas Somerton. She met Alvis M. Tindol of Cadiz, Texas while he was serving in the U.S. Army there. They were married January 28, 1942. In 1946, the couple made their home in Beeville, Texas, where they raised their family. Louise worked alongside her husband in the family fuel business for more than 50 years. She was a faithful member of Cadiz Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fanny and Thomas Somerton.; her husband, Alvis Tindol; a son, Dale A. Tindol; sisters, Gladys Brown, Phyllis Leek and Mildred Amick; and one brother, Vincent Somerton.

Louise is survived by her daughter, Joan (Tindol) Spittler and husband Donald of Portland, Texas; daughter-in-law, Margaret Tindol of Beeville, Texas; eight grandchildren, Shannon (Chris) Freund, Jason (Amy) Tindol, Allison Blake (Sean) Howell, Brooke (Sean) Scogin, Garrett (Tiffany) Tindol, Anne Farrell Tindol, Jeff (Tammy) Spittler and Jana (Terry) Reid; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was also loved by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was lovingly cared for by Dela Mendez who brightened her days with love and joy.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2019, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service will be conducted at Cadiz Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2019, with Rev. Homer Hanna and Rev. Larry Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Tindol, Ty Tindol, Sean Scogin, Jeffrey Spittler, Chris Freund and Garrett Tindol.
