Joseph Anthony “Trojan Joe” Linnstaedter passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at the age of 62. He was a lifelong resident of Beeville, Texas.
Joe was born August 20, 1956, in Beeville to Kirby Willie Hermann Linnstaedter and Evelyn Frances Hermes. He married Anita Lynn Evans on June 10, 1988, in Beeville. He was employed in the maintenance department with Beeville Independent School District for numerous years.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Anita Lynn Evans Linnstaedter.
He is survived by a brother and many friends whom considered him family.
An avid Beeville Trojans fan, Joe was known around the community as “Trojan Joe” for the love and spirit he displayed in and off the field.
A.C. Jones High School presented him with a certificate in recognition of his participation in athletics during the 1973-74 season.
In 2002-2003, Joe was recognized as “Employee of the Year” in appreciation for the outstanding achievements and dedicated services to the BISD Food Service Department. That year, he once more earned “Employee of the Year” honors in recognition, appreciation and dedicated service to the children of Beeville.
Joe was proudly inducted into the Beeville Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.
He was recognized in 2009 after retiring from BISD with 34 years of dedicated service. On June 1, 2009, he was the recipient of a plaque from A.C. Jones High School in appreciation for his service and dedication to the Beeville Trojans.
Sergeant Michael Folsom presented him a flag which was flown over Al Asad, Iraq, on February 13, 2017, to thank him for his contributions and support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the United States Marine Corp. Semper Fi.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Gary Conklin officiating. Burial will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Bo Bowman, Troy Hughes, Waylon Ford, Stephen Ramirez, Dru Canion, Carroll Lohse and Conal Polk.
