Cruz Morin Pena, 90, of Floresville, Texas passed away on November 16, 2017. Mr. Pena was born to Andres and Josefa (Morin) Pena on May 3, 1927, in Runge, Texas. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during WWII. He was a Catholic and worked as a lineman for Freestone Construction. He later went to work for Valero and retired after many years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Joe Cruz Pena and Rudy Pena; grandchild, Esfrin Cortinas; brothers, Alejandro and Gilbert Pena; and sisters, Candy Pena Garza, Mary Pena Hernandez and Rosa Tanguma.
He is survived by his sons, Bobby (Theresa) Pena of Three Rivers and Rogelio Pena of Victoria; daughter, Peggy Sue (Esfrin, Sr.) Cortinas of Goliad; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Juventino M. Pena of Floresville; sisters, Consuelo “Connie” Guajardo of Three Rivers, Elva Carroll of Three Rivers and Enedina “Annie” Tanguma of Three Rivers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers with a rosary recited there that evening at 7 p.m.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers. Interment will follow at Three Rivers Cemetery.
My sincere condolences to the family. I had the pleasure of knowing Cruz. He was such a great funny man. Always joking and having stories to tell. You will be missed Cruz.
